New Server Idea

It's been quite a while since Infinite Dawn went down, and I just want to let you know we have been working on a new server. We actually worked on a server for a month or so and almost completed the spawn area, it was a pretty large kingdom, about 2x the size of old spawn, but after a month's work on it we decided to completely change the concept of what we want the server to be like, so we started again just recently with a fresh world.

There are going to be several nations, probably 3 or 4 at the start. Each nation will be made up of several cities, one of them will be a huge main city. Each nation with have a theme, we haven't fully thought out the themes but some may include Steam punk sort of theme, like a huge mechanical city, another maybe more of a desert Egyptian kind of theme. Each will have unique cities. There will also be Heroes, and you can choose from several different classes and rank up in your class. PvP will be enabled and you can battle with other nations.

The smaller details of the server are still being developed such as how economy and trading will work. The server will be SMP, basically you gather your materials build your creations, make your own money, however you want. PvP is also enabled through the world and you choose your class you wish you be and will have certain spells depending on your class.

Because we plan on having around 15 cities total, each will be pretty large and detailed, the new server is expected to be finished in maybe 6 months max. Probably wont be done within 2-3 months. We know this is an extremely long time, but we plan on having it professionally hosted, and be able to have max slots at around 150 total.

We are looking for builders to help work on the new server, but are only selecting a few, maybe 5 or so total, not just from this server. If you want to apply, email at droidflow@gmail.com letting me know I should select you to help work on the server.

      Yeah I know, the server we were working on at first just wasn't going to be as big or awesome as we had wanted, so we totally scratched that idea and came up with this new one. With how things are going now, it's looking like it's only going to be possibly around 2 months before the server is up, we're making some good progress fast :D

    Daclowns you're a nice guy and I'm excited about the server and i say this in the nicest way possible but, I'M TIRED OF WAITING! don't know if i can make it 6 months dude, Just please hurry I personally don't care about a big spawn but about the people who run it so in short, I'm excited and anxious.

      Ugh I know! I really hate having the server down, but now it looks like it should be up in about 2 months, and we're hoping it will be well worth the wait.

      Looks like it's going to be about 2 months or so hopefully before the server is up, I want to at least get it to a point where players can play while we're still building the un-important features.

    Sorry to hear that the server is going to be down for a long while. With my current workload I won't be able to help build either. I hope the server will be up soon. Perhaps, you could create a discussion so we could keep up with the progress of the new server and post ideas for it. Maybe even you could post screenshots of the cities coming soon after a while.     oops, forgot to say what I meant to say.
    I think, having a nice spawn is great, but the reason why the server attracted me at first was the spawn is small and neat.
    I mean like, there are a zillion servers out there with amazingly spawns, it doesn't make the server any better, most people don't see the spawn that often anyways besides using the shops possibly.
    I think compare to having a huge spawn, it is more important to keep the server up, you can still build on the spawn even with people on the server, correct?
    That's just what I think, let's say you spend a long while to finish the spawn, what if notch decides to make another huge update that requires new map? 2 months is way too long in my opinion.

      You are not assigned a house in a town, and there should be the option for people to make their own towns. At this point I'd say it will be up during December.

    Hey guys I'm sorry that we haven't been able to put the server up yet however, we are trying our hardest to get it open to the public as soon as possible. Our goal is to have the server open by the end of March if not sooner. I suggest you follow this because we will be releasing info on the servers status as we work on it!     I really miss the server, and you could build anyways while the server is running. Besides the spawn isn't what makes the server great, and I cannot wait to play again. Not sure how far you guys have gotten with the server, but a simple spawn should be enough to open up. Can't wait to see everyone again and the server up too! :) -lil2kit

    We are honestly trying our hardest to get the server up. Like we said before, everything is finished we just have to wait for bukkit to release a stable build for 1.5 so our plugins will work. Bukkit is taking its time to get us a stable build so please just be patient :)

    We have been having some issues with our plugins lately. When we get those problems sorted out you can expect a link to our new improved website. The servers idea at the top of this page has changed in some ways but we will be working on a special project when the server is online :).     Pudgle and I finished building the server a long time ago, and we have been waiting on dac to host the server for about 3 months. Im going to be honest. I don't think he ever will. He says he is going to but he wont when we ask him. So, we are probably going to make a quick server that is almost vanilla and put it up.

    What do you mean? Like in game money? If that's what you're talking about, no. But, we have a really cool way of making money that is tons of fun! I can't tell you what it is yet, but i can tell you it's going to be HUGE and ever expanding.

    New server is done and ready for you guys to play on! The auto promotion isn't working right currently so we are going to open the server to the public Tomorrow (July 5th) at 1pm (central standard time). We are doing this because we hope people will check back by then and join at that time or around then so we can be there to promote you!     I am very sorry everyone! I was on vacation and when the server restarted it set it to whitelist mode! Everyone can join now!
